Azharuddin's teenage son dies 5 days after bike crash

HYDERABAD: Had he lived, Mohammed Ayazuddin would have played an inter-college match at Osmania University this month end. And had he survived the battle in hospital, the budding cricketer may perhaps have scripted an innings like the ones his father was known for while at his peak. But these will now only be spoken of in eulogies revolving around a future that Ayazuddin doesn't have. Five days after his Suzuki 1000-cc superbike skidded and crashed on a Hyderabad expressway, former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin's son succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.



The 19-year-old passed away at 11.51am. Azharuddin, who had remained composed through the five days, broke down when he was told of his younger son's death and wept inconsolably as his relatives hugged him.
