Raven Symone wins NAACP Theatre Award







Actress Raven Symone attends the 21st Annual NAACP Theatre Awards on Aug. 29,2011, in Hollywood, Calif. Raven Symone was among the winners at this week's NAACP Theatre Awards.

The actress accepted the Spirit Award at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Monday night, wearing a strapless, merlot-colored gown.

The annual honor is presented to an individual who brings energy, tenacity, innovation, commitment, talent and spirit, to the theater scene.

The 25-year-old starred in the play "Father's Day" alongside Rosie Perez and Andre Royo.

Symone now stars on ABC Family's new series "The Great State of Georgia.
